DIAGNOSIS EXPLAINED
Dryer problems:
what to check.
Two common situations, the possible causes, and how a repair decision is made.
Illustrative scenarios, not completed customer jobs or testimonials. The exact diagnosis depends on your appliance and an inspection.

ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLE 01
Dryer runs without heat
The complaint: The drum turns, but clothes stay cold and wet.
What the diagnosis separates: On an electric dryer, diagnosis includes the supply, heater circuit, temperature controls and airflow. Gas models require a different ignition-system assessment.
A possible next step: A confirmed failed heating element can be replaced, but airflow should also be evaluated. A new element alone will not correct an obstructed exhaust path.
ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLE 02
Drying takes two cycles
The complaint: The dryer heats, yet a normal load takes much longer than before.
What the diagnosis separates: The lint filter, exhaust path, duct arrangement and appliance operation are evaluated. Restricted airflow and a heating fault should not be treated as the same issue.
A possible next step: An obstructed vent may call for cleaning or a duct correction. Persistent long cycles after airflow is restored need further diagnosis. Stop use if there is smoke or a burning smell.
What to send Leo.
A model-label photo, the error code if shown, when the issue started, and whether it happens every cycle. Do not remove electrical covers or dismantle the appliance to collect this information.
